Candy Fundraiser

Another opportunity to raise money for your band account begins Wed, 3/26/08!  We are offering boxes of candy bars that sell for $1 with all of the profit (50%) going directly into student band accounts.  This means that each box of candy sold and full payment ($52) turned in, $26 will be credited to your band account!  The band banquet (marchers) tickets go on sale the end of April or you can get ahead on your account and use the credit toward 2008-09 dues (1st payment due April 22!). 

The varieties offered this year include:

1. Hershey's Variety - 52 bars per box including:  Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Reese's Pieces, Kit Kat bars, Hershey's milk chocolate, Hershey's chocolate with almonds & Twizzlers.
2. M & M Variety - 52 bars per box including:  M & M plain & peanut, Snickers & Skittles.

To participate, you will need to sign an agreement stating that you understand the procedure. You will then receive a box (one box at a time).  After you turn in the $52 for the first box you may choose to get another box to earn more for your account.  Mrs. Bill will be at school Wednesday after school with this form and boxes to hand out.  If you are unable to come at that time, Mrs. Keck will have the form and candy to distribute at a later date.  Boxes will also be available at the band booster meeting this Thursday, 3/27 ( 7pm , band room).

Band students have had great success with this candy fundraiser in the past and just carrying the box around tends to generate a lot of sales.  It's an easy way to make some quick $$ for your band account.  You can email Cindy Bill at clbill@bellsouth.net with any questions or requests for candy. PLEASE NOTE!!!!  DO NOT leave candy & money unattended.  Students make this mistake every year and the box gets stolen - leaving the student/parent to pay for candy they no longer have.  The band is NOT responsible for lost candy/money and you will be required to pay for it.  Also, we cannot give partial box refunds. Campus Trash Detail
Mr. Blenke has given the band a new fundraiser that will give you an opportunity to make $40 every time you work it (parent volunteer included).  We will be picking up trash on the DHS campus two times per month through the end of the scholl year.  We will need one parent and four students to start at 10:00 am two Saturdays a month.  We will be dividing up and covering the entire campus and parking lots (with the exception of the football stadium and baseball field).  The job should only take a few hours and gloves and trash bags will be provided.  If you are interested in participating, please send an email to Cindy Bill at clbill@bellsouth.net .  Please include an email and phone number where you can be reached so we can get back to you with details and can confirm which week you will be assigned.  This will also be given out on a first come first served basis.  If you are interested you need to contact Cindy Bill to get your name on the list for future dates.
