The Program

The Duluth High School Band program, under direction of Sonny Petway, Director of Bands, and Nathan Groves, assistant director, is comprised of the following performing ensembles:

• The Concert Band, Symphonic Band and Symphonic Winds, which play throughout the school year
• The Wildcat Marching Band & Color Guard, which perform at DHS home and away football games
• The Winter Guard, indoor percussion ensemble, and jazz band are specialty groups that are active during the concert season

Each group serves as “goodwill ambassadors” for the high school, competing for honors in local, regional and state level competitions, and providing musical performances for local organizations and sponsors.
